local style {xowyo paper}

I am thrilled to share with you the work of a very talented duo of local girls, Jenny and Cara, that also happen to be the newest delight by design sponsors. It all started when they worked together to create Cara's wedding suite. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to share their talent and started xowyo paper! They have a flawless design aesthetic and I love the non traditional materials they use and are planning to use in the future!

You can see more of their lovely designs on the xowyo website and on Cara's blog. And don't you just love their company name?

perfect [pattern on pattern] look

I am not one to post a single fashion editorial image--however, this image has been haunting me and begging to be posted. At first I couldn't decide my thought on the pattern on pattern look but lets just say it grew on me exponentially ever time I looked at it (it is pinned on my inspiration board) and now I think it just downright perfect!

And I think this style also perfectly showcases a lovely way to wear a dash of sequins. If you like this level of sparkle (like I do!) you will also love this shirt from vanessa bruno. Is the pattern on pattern look one you would take the risk to sport?

new sponsor: lily & co

I am beyond thrilled to add lily & co to the list of delight by design sponsors. Lily & co is a local shop that carries not only the most adorable home accessories and gifts but they are amazing when it come to flowers!

The above bouquet they designed is one of my all time favorites for its loose, textured and whimsical look. I highly recommend stopping in one of their two locations in Jackson or stopping by their lovely blog.

Jackson Hole Flower Co.

Thank you for all your Birthday wishes! I had a wonderful Birthday--I took the day off from work and went on my favorite hike up in the park, tried to soak up the few minutes of sun and discovered the most lovely new shop here in Jackson. They have some stunning single stems...

casual summer [lauren moffatt]

I went into one of my favorite clothing boutiques today and almost everything that I gravitated toward was from designer, Lauren Moffat. Her pieces are incredibly playful and are the greatest colors--perfect for a casual summer affair.

I just received the most beautiful floral arrangement as an early valentine from my dad. It is the perfect size, in the perfect container and made from the perfect flowers. It so nice to see tulips on a cold day like today. I just has to share them with you!

local style guest post {emorie broemel}

In my effort to prove that Jackson Hole locals are a stylish bunch I asked one of my fashionable friends to do a guest post and I just LOVE what she came up with! She has such brilliant taste and as you will read is quite savvy.

When Blair graciously asked me to do a guest post on her wonderful blog, I had one topic immediately come to mind, the impending “wedding season”. I know it’s only February but living in Wyoming, I need to plan ahead so I have ample time to shop, locally and online. However, with money tighter than ever for most of us, buying several new party dresses plus accessories seems like an extravagance. But a wedding, the point is to look sweetly glamorous, emphasis on sweet—after all, it is the bride’s day. So, I have been thinking about the necessity of having one such dress to wear to all five weddings that are on my calendar for this spring and summer (and not to mention the fact that I am constantly dreaming of warmer weather).

With all this in mind, I set out to find that single, perfect dress plus fabulous complementing accessories that would carry me through this “season” with ease and style. And why not have one go-to outfit?

Most of the weddings I am attending will have an entirely different cast of characters! If you find yourself attending several weddings with the same set of friends, just look to accessories to freshen up something from the depths of your closet. This colorful Shoshanna dress, neutral Moschino heels, and satin J.Crew clutch I found (plus my favorite wrap) will make packing and dressing for my summer and spring weddings stress free, just as it should be.

Twinkle Twinkle

I just spent the past hour pining over everything on the Twinkle website. I especially love these fresh looks from their 2009 spring collection.

And definitely in love with these leather oxford inspired skinny belts. Perfect to wear over a spring dress or just to spruce up jeans and a simple tee.

local style: fellow bloggers

Home Design Ideas and Alternative
As there are incredibly stylish people and businesses here in Jackson Hole I decided to start a series featuring them. First of all, there are a lot of blogs written in Jackson but many of them are more adventure or outdoor oriented. So I was so excited when I saw that two of the companies I wanted to feature in this local style series had blogs, one of which is only a few days old. These blogs are from one of the most amazingly talented local florists, Lily & Co and the other is from a wonderful local photographer, Carrie Patterson. Just a little sampling of their work from a wedding they both did...

the perfect plaid

Yesterday when I went to get my morning latte I saw a very stylish girl walk in the store and wished I had decided to put on something other than my "go to" coffee run outfit (typically consists of yoga pants and Uggs.) The funny thing is that she was wearing a plaid shirt-something I haven't thought about as stylish since I used to go to the barn in them in 8th grade. Then last night I was perusing The Sartorlialist and saw another lovely plaid shirt:

Ever since, I have been scouring my favorite online stores for the perfect plaid shirt and thought this one from Phillip Lim was darn close:

What are your thoughts on plaid? Perfect for a stylish evening of apres ski activities or should it stay in the pile of barn clothes? If you do love it, do you have any to suggest?

Ski Town Style

Ok, so vintage jewelry is "in" why not vintage ski posters? It may be a little touristy but I really have a soft spot for them. I just love the nostalgic feelings they evoke. I think at least one of these will make my Christmas list -- I think I like the cigar smoking polar bear best!

Local Style: Altitude Adjustment

Altitude, a small local clothing store, had some cute things but it was definitely not the one stop shop for fashionitas that it is today. Last summer the owners opened up a much larger store on the town square and are now carrying very cool contemporary artwork, furniture, fabulous books and home accessories in addition to clothing, shoes and handbags. I went in for the first time last weekend and was blown away with what they have done to the place. Such a breath of fresh air in a community overloaded with t-shirt and western wear stores. I loved almost all of their merchandise but was especially drawn to these mirrored picture frames:

...and the extensive inventory of Orla Keily:

And if all the browsing wears you out they also opened an espresso bar in the back of the store.

Stop by Altitude at 48 E. Broadway or call 733-4719.

Local Style

When I first started this blog I felt at an immediate disadvantage, as I don't live in a bustling city full of hidden antique shops and cutting edge architecture. However, the more I think about it Jackson really does have a lot to offer in terms of style and design - if the natural beauty of this valley is not enough we have amazing art galleries, restaurants, florists, clothing stores that can rival the hippest metropolitan boutiques, and some very cute and funky home decor shops. So, i have a new mission--I am going to start a weekly post completely dedicated to my current hometown!

Local Style: Fashion + Function

In Jackson Hole there are definitely distinctive groups of people, especially when it comes to style. All of the styles here are fun and unique but todays post is dedicated to the outdoor enthusiast. For this group of people style it is all about functionality. These are some staple items you would likely find in their closet that keep them not only sporty but chic.

This is Patagonia version of the little black dress. Their Morning Glory dress is not only flattering but made of incredibly comfortable Jersey knit.

A true marriage of fashion and function, this flirtatious baby blue skirt from Cloudveil is made specifically for trail running and mountain biking.
Home Design Ideas and Alternative
AUDREY sunglasses from Smith, a favorite sunglasses brand of locals. These stylish glasses also come with a lifetime warranty--I don't think Gucci is very likely to offer that!
Home Design Ideas and Alternative

In addition to keeping time and looking cool this bright red watch from Suunto keeps a memory log of your activities - such as duration, your altitude, and how high you climbed up the Grand Teton. It also has a barometer to alert you of any weather changes, since here in the mountains it can change in an instant and snow is a possibility everyday of the year.
Home Design Ideas and Alternative
Most girls in Jackson are quite the yogis and for them the apparel from Prana is the only way to practice and I have to agree. I love their Lola Sport top, which comes in 10 playful patterns such as Tangerine Taj (below left) and Tangerine Pebble (below right).
