color pops {rich plum}

There is something about the color purple that is lately drawing me in. It just such a regal and rich color that I definitely would like more of in my life. It is also a color that is supposed to boost imagination and creativity--which is never a bad thing! And as with most bold colors, a little goes a long way...Home Design Ideas and AlternativeHome Design Ideas and AlternativeHome Design Ideas and Alternative

event inspiration {by room}

I spent my day off making homemade ravioli and then cleaning up all the flour I covered the kitchen in. It is about time for me to start making the brown butter sauce and play hostess but wanted to pop in real quickly. I have been completely enamored by this image from lonny and when attempting to clean up my desktop of 800 images I came across it again and decided that it was the perfect inspiration for a spring backyard affair.

pretty in peach

Pastels for fall? Yes, indeed. Peach is the perfect warm and luxurious alternative to the traditional pastel shades of summer.

craving caramel

I don't typically have a sweet tooth (I am more of savory girl) but when one of the most sugar filled holidays approaches I do begin to have caramel apple cravings. Not only are they delicious but the color is just so comforting and cozy for fall.

cheap(er) chic: cheery coral

I have worn a coral colored article of clothing or accessory almost every day this week(including today!)--as a color it just adds an instant brightness to any ensemble. I think I may even need to add a few more items into the mix for this summer. Some of my favorite coral cheap(er) chic finds:

color inspiration {robin egg blue}

I have been on quite the blue interior kick lately but I think that robin egg blue may beat out all the other shades. I am not quite sure why I haven't posted about this lovely color earlier but I was quickly reminded of it today with all the robins were enjoying the rain (and worms!) in my yard. The softest versions of the shade are perfect for a soothing primary color in a space and the bolder versions make for the perfect accent.

sunday shelves

I have been doing quite a bit of spring cleaning this weekend and organizing my shelves has been one of my major projects. It is amazing how many vases, random home accessories and books just haphazardly found their way to my kitchen and living room shelves. Just a little inspiration to keep me going...

jade and coral [and perhaps a dash of yellow]

I almost always find that I am drawn to the rooms that utilize at least three colors, even if they are all neutrals. Take coral, which seems to be everywhere lately. A coral room dotted with few different patterns and materials and perhaps a neutral here and there can be lovely. But add a cooling jade or teal to the mix and the warmth of a space drastically increases.

Add yet another layer of color to this palette, such a brilliant yellow, and spaces grow even more inviting.

Are your more restrained when using color or do you prefer many layers of it?
