inspiration {portholes + dories}

Ok, I wasn't planning on posting again before the weekend but when I came across this bathroom I just could not wait until Monday. And this simple (and stunning) bathroom seemed like the perfect place to start a relaxing weekend. I love the nautical inspiration --the washed and worn board remind me of a charming dory that washed up on the beach and then the lovely portholesque cut outs!

one last escape

Oh Labor Day weekend, how soon you came and with SNOW in the forecast Monday this may truly be the last weekend of summer. I hope that you are all getting in one last summer escape! I wouldn't mind a quick weekend trip to this lovely home in the Caribbean--nope not one bit.

happy {simple outdoor} weekend

From my lack of postings this week it is probably apparent that I have been pretty busy. I am so looking forward to a quite weekend enjoying the great outdoors, starting with a camping excursion tonight. powder blue + classic style

After a long week, the simple combination of powder blue with classic style is incredibly appealing. The whisper soft hint of color is both soothing and refreshing and I find great great comfort in its pairing with traditional motifs and pieces.

a very welcome weekend

Sorry that I have been a bit absent the past few days. In addition to being under the weather (-10 to -20 temperatures in the morning will do that) I had an event last night--that although incredibly fun definitely drained the energy I had left in me. So I am more than ready for the weekend and the lovely entry doors to these rooms seemed like the perfect way to welcome it...

And not only are these stained glass doors lovely but they are also pocket doors! And how sweet is that westie vase on such a well styled table!?

{pastel} weekend retreat

When I saw this room by Sally Steponkus I instantly feel in love with everything about it--the soft pastel color scheme, the right touch of symmetry, oddly proportioned and well styled fireplace and not to mention my new dream coffee table!

I think this would be the perfect space to recoup from what has been a very stressful and crazy week! What are you all up to this weekend? I think I am going to lay low and work on the much overdue task of making my Christmas cards!
