slouchy chic {heidi merrick}
Heidi Merrick just launched a new website and along with the launch was the premiere of her Spring 2011 collection. It is the perfect mix of casual and sophisticated with her usual whimsical flair. The collection has pieces perfect play and work.

Oh and make sure to check out her home collection!

designer crush {porter grey}

I am completely crazy about the classically feminine pieces from the three year old Porter Grey--all of them are perfect for the upcoming fourth of July weekend festivities! The line is intended for women that "understand subtle elegance...and have a quiet confidence that does not rely on momentary trends."

I don't know about you--but I would love every one of these pieces!

not your average LBD
I was finally wrapping up switching out my winter wardrobe with my summer one and realized that I only have wintry little black dresses. And of course I am now thinking that I need one for the summer months too! So if price was of no object I think these would be the ones I would add to my closet:

(via marni, tibi, marc jacobs,)
Love that either from embellishments, materials or textures that these dresses are anything but the typical LBD. I think when it came down to it the Marni dress would be the one coming home with me. What are your little black dress requirements?

cheap(er) chic: hitting the beach
One of my co-workers heads off to Mexico tomorrow to play in the sun and the sand. Which sounds rather (well, really!) appealing as I watch the snowflakes fall from a gray sky. The encouraged me to check to see if I had enough miles to book a flight somewhere warm but unfortunately I don't. However, if I did these are some of the cheap(er) chic items that I would tote along.

bamboo clutch from j.mclaughlin ($150), multi color necklace from anthropologie ($178), tory burch reva jelly flats ($90), shoshanna print chiffon dress (40% off at bluefly), pink tunic from j.crew ($39), trina turk bathing suit (on sale for $88 - 40% off)

heat wave?
As much as I love all of this snow, I can't help but dream about being somewhere warm where I could wear this outfit--even if just to carry this clutch!

Color Fix
I don't think there was quite enough color in my posts today so before I decide to stop procrastinating and go to the gym I thought I would post this mustard creation from Oscar de la Renta that I am lusting after! I really need to start blogging and lusting within my means! Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Flats with Frill
I have seen these silver Sigerson Morrison flats a few times this week when searching for holiday outfits. I can't help thinking that they would be so cute just with jeans.

Puddle Jumping
I wear my Tory Burch leather flats almost everyday which with the current amount of mud is not exactly practical (something I usually am not!). Anyways, I do have to admit that it may be time for more appropriate footwear. I was thrilled when I came across these WATERPROOF Tory Burch offerings. Being a former equestrian, I especially love the boots!

Little Monday Shimmer...
My quest continues for the perfect holiday outfit. I adore this sequined pencil skirt from Proenza Schouler! I love it with a simple black turtleneck, patent leather flats (I can't wear heels!) and these earrings from Banana Republic.

I love having a "go to" holiday party dress picked out by this time of year and this Rebecca Taylor mini dress is definitely a contender!

Olive Love
I am wearing an olive green vest today and wishing very much I had more of the color in my closet. So, of course I went hunting and found these fabulous olive items:

Winter Roundup: Clean Cream
I always gravitate towards cream or winter white outerwear, which is surprising because mine always end up covered in slush and red wine! Either way, I love it. I just love how clean it looks on its own or with a fun pattern mixed in and maybe just little bit because you can camouflage yourself in the snow!
My favorite finds both formal and everyday :

Clean and classic with touch of modern from the buttons and cropped sleeves (from Chloe).

I love the whimsy and sophistication of this pattern and shape (from j.crew).

Elegance incarnate (from Burberry).

I love the paddigton bear-esque toggles (from Tibi).

Perfect for scraping the ice of the car or strolling around town (from Cloudveil)

Flats with Flair!
Being 5' 10" I tend to exclusively wear flats-I have already worn through 3 pairs of Tory Burch flats in the past year alone! Flats really make me feel more feminine then heels and these embellished flats definitley do:
