DIY Ribbon Message Board
Are you one of those people that save gift wrap and ribbons from presents you have received? If so, then you probably already have all the materials (ribbon, staple gun and an empty frame) needed for this beautiful DIY ribbon message board.

I sadly do not have a drawer full of ribbons but this may be just the reason I need to start saving them. I also feel quite inclined to empty a picture frame just to have one of these in my home.

plaid pup
I am starting to warm up to plaid home decor (loving it for my personal attire) and this little guy is my first step in that direction. Not only is this pooch adorable but it is incredibly useful--it is a draft stopper! Even thought I never new these stoppers existed until today I have decided that I must have one.
What are your thoughts on plaid for the home? Maybe just for an accessory or two or totally tartan?

practical christmas list
The adorable Miss Aimee over at Mostly Mod posted about her practical Christmas list this morning and asked fellow bloggers to do the same. I have to say it was quite hard to differentiate the items that I want versus need but was able to come up with four:
(1) Kiehls Abysinne cream, as the Wyoming winters (and winds) do a number on my skin and this is the only product I can find that combat them.
(2) I also need some everyday gloves, like these from J.Crew since ski gloves are not always the best just for a trip to the store.
(3) Ok, so black Cole Hahn flats may seem like they should fall into the gray area between need and want but as I no longer have any suitable everyday black shoes they are definitely a need this year.
(4) Lastly, I am ALWAYS in need of simple studs, like the ones below from Banana Republic.
What items are on your practical Christmas or wish list?

Puddle Jumping
I wear my Tory Burch leather flats almost everyday which with the current amount of mud is not exactly practical (something I usually am not!). Anyways, I do have to admit that it may be time for more appropriate footwear. I was thrilled when I came across these WATERPROOF Tory Burch offerings. Being a former equestrian, I especially love the boots!
