HE and marcel wanders
Do you like this story?

thanks to the wonderful d*s reader who emailed with some questions about this new line of audio components and storage from marcel wanders and holland electro (he).
let me just say, i think this stuff looks awesome. it's certainly an acquired taste and not going to be for everyone (no idea about pricing, but i'm assuming it's through the roof). i don't know about the sound quality, but on a purely aesthetic basis, i think it's such a lovely way to deal with audio equipment, since not all of us like big black boxes or giant silver stereos.
wanders' collection with he includes: "theatre" (a wooden side table in which a home cinema set is integrated. includes dvd player, central speaker, subwoofer and satellite speakers), "pandora" (a small wooden table with an integrated woofer and 2 wireless speakers), "egg" (gorgeous carved speakers), "domino" (two gorgeously thin speakers...although their modern white lines don't really match the other components...hmm..), "merlin" and "mathilda" (antennas) and "wave tv", which might be the craziest of the bunch, to me at least. the wave tv is microwave with an intregrated tv screen so you can watch tv while you cook. totally unnecessary to me, but heck, someone might want it.
the collection launched in berlin last week, so i'm trying to find out where people can get it in the states. i'll update when i know. i just thought it'd be fun to see what marcel was up to. [note: people always freak out when i write about him and email me to tell me how much he sucks, so if that's you, please don't send me page long emails. i get that you hate him. not sure why, but consider your point noted.][ps: all pictures from the he website]
