{refined rustic} tabletops

Talk of Thanksgiving plans has started, which always gets me excited and my mind spinning with tabletop ideas. This year instead of just one large floral arrangement I adore the idea of multiple small and differing style arrangements. I don't like anything too fussy and formal so these refined yet also rustic floral designs from Lily & Co are perfect inspiration.

And I adore the kerosene lanterns! Have you started planning your table?

cheap(er) chic: table covering

I think the decor that I was most stressed about for Thanksgiving was a table covering. I looked at all the local stores and really didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for a one time use tablecloth. So I actually wound up buying this burlap runner (as featured on style me pretty!) for a very reasonable price. However, if that fell though I was truly tempted to just use kraft paper.

It is inexpensive table covering option and definitely won't need to be immediately treated when stained with red wine.

downright dreamy dining room

I have had rustic elegance on my mind, as I have been working on a event inspiration board that embraces this style (check back tomorrow morning!) and this dining room would be the perfect way to translate the look into your home. I am just crazy about the mix of the modern chairs with the casual bench and stunning floors--not to mention the perfect table setting and amazing natural light.

creative centerpiece

I love centerpieces. They are so crucial to entertaining--whether a tray of pillar candles or a bowl of baubles--it sets the tone for a gathering. For instance if you saw these fantastical centerpieces full of goldfish you would know you were in for a less than conventional evening.

casually elegant new years

I still have no clue what I am doing for New Years Eve but if I could whip up a table to look like this I most certainly would be entertaining:

I really like the freshness of the green accents and that detailing on the decanter and those glasses is just beautiful. I still not quite sure how I feel about the ivy but love the little snippet of foliage on the plate.

I have to say I really like the cokes at each place setting--such a fun contrast to the formal room. The coca-cola polar bear has always been a symbol of Christmas, why not the actual drink!
