poppycotton is a great online boutique carrying one of a kind vintage fabric pillows, wall hangings and lampshades. based in my neighborhood, park slope, brooklyn, poppycotton was started by designer, melissa womack, who was inspired to create a line of home furnishings based on her favorite movies: rosemary's baby and the stepford wives. to create her unique designs, womack, "scour[s] online auctions and new york markets and find the vintage printed textiles and trimmings that hearken an era when homes weren’t afraid of a little pop and color". her designs are perfect for warming up a room and adding that last little touch of color to a room that needs it. you can shop melissa's entire collection right here.
