re: hurricane katrina
Do you like this story?

my best friend from my nyu days has family that live in new orleans. i haven't been able to get in touch with her yet (she's safe in texas, but i haven't heard about her family yet), but she's been on my mind for the last three days. in light of the unimaginable tragedy that's taken place in louisiana, i wanted to post some quick information that was pertinent to the subject.
craftrevolution.com, an online magazine that promotes the work of independent designers, artists, and crafters has teamed up with the folks from craftster.org and etsy.com to set up a fundraiser to support the victims of hurricane katrina. they've set up a shop at etsy.com (craftrevolution.etsy.com), and they're looking for donations from folks in the indie design/craft world. people are donating items for us to sell on etsy, and then 100% of the proceeds from the sales are going to the red cross. you can read the details on how it works here: http://www.craftrevolution.com/craftersunite.htm. [also, if this isn't up your alley, don't forget local authorities and the red cross, along with many other can help you contribute any donations you feel comfortable giving. here is cnn's guide to helping out]
