help? please?

so, ac and i invested in zip car and we love it. we're planning to make a run for it and get out of town next weekend for a friday to sunday thing. we wanted to go somewhere beachy, but have no idea where to go or where to stay. we were going to go upstate to hike but it's all booked up. anyone know of nice places to go (with a beach) that are a decent drive from the city (i know there will be miserable traffic on both friday and sunday)? i've never been to the hamptons, and i know it'll be full and crazy pricey, but does anyone have suggestions? we'd love to spend less than $200 a night if possible. anywhere on long island? jersey shore? thanks for any suggestions...we need to get sun. it's my mission to avoid the nyc pale-face this summer. xoxo, d*s
