elsewares newbies
Do you like this story?

i always love getting my "new at elsewares" email. this summer they've added two great pieces that i just LOVE: coasters made from recyled newspapers and magazines (by ROOST, could i love them any more?) and bowls made from tickets by california designer brian jewitt.
roost used recycled magazines and newspapers from all over the world to make their cute coasters. the only catch is- although they have a resin coating, they may not be entirely waterproof (elsewares suggests you "shouldn't throw them in the pool." they seem like they'd be ok used indoors, but on a hot summer day outside where drinks tend to drip, i'd use a different set of coasters. they still look cool though and at $12 for a set of 6, they won't break the bank.
brian jewitt's ticket bowls have been around for awhile, or at least i've seen some like them all over the place, but since they're new to elsewares i thought i'd throw em on here too. the bowls come in 4 different color combos at $60 a pop (a bit high in my opinion)- they're made from real tickets, bound and coated with polyurethane. they can hold just about anything solid — keys, loose change, even popcorn (but no soup or cereal, please). click here for more info.
