parisian designer
arnaud lapierre sent over some pictures of his latest work: a side plate/key project called
le contact and
jirho, a beautiful hanging votive holder.
le contact started from a hotel room project. one of the first things people do when they settle into their room is place their personal items (money, watch, glasses, keys) on the bedside table. arnaud designed this porcelain plate/tabletop to hold these items and a red transparent key that, when placed over the decoration on the plate, reveals a hidden city map printed on the plate. such a fun idea...

jirho is a joint project with
ethnik.org, a group that promotes art and crafts from africa and madagascar. designed to be placed outdoors in a garden, the light shines through tiny holes in the outer layer, casting delicate shadows below. arnaud's site is still under construction but you can contact arnaud
right here if you're interested in any of his projects.
