affordable lighting

when it comes to our apt, there are a few things ac and i agree on: one, i am a pain in the butt to live with (picking paint colors is just the tip of the iceberg) and two, good lighting is crucial to any room. i love to buy lamps like i love to buy chairs and we have several of them filling the dark corners of our apt just waiting to be turned on. i like to think they'd always like another friend so i'm spying a few affordable lamp bases at urban outfitters right now. i'm trying to lay off the box stores but these guys have too much potential. a nice linen shade or something with a hand-printed pattern would look lovely on this barrel base ($42) or white lattice base ($42). you never know when you'll need an extra lamp...
