design for a cause
Do you like this story?
i'm so excited to post about this- what a fantastic idea. fritz hansen (manufacturer of the famous seven chair by arne jacobsen), in cooperation with the danish aids foundation, contacted a number of world class design brands with the challenge of reimagining jacobsen's classic chair for charity [participants included: diesel, camper, paul smith, louis vuitton, missoni, bizassa and others]. the result was 13 beautiful and unique chair designs that will be auctioned off in the spring of 2006 with all proceeds going to the danish aids foundation and the global search for new preventive technologies, such as an aids vaccine and microbicides, which are the most formidable potential weapons against the aids-pandemic, giving hope to millions of people. what a beautiful idea. click here for more info at troy soho.
