retail: amsterdam?

one of my best friends just moved to amsterdam for work and he's in the process of setting up his new apt. i just realized that all my suggestions for home design are state-side so i wondered if anyone knew of any good home/design stores in amsterdam? i can think of designers over there, but no actual retail stores. if anyone has any suggestions, guides, etc i'd be most appreciative if you could post them below. bryan and i thank you in advance :)
