student design

this thursday, october 6, cranbrook 3d design students will show their work at an exhibition entitled, "authors of use" at felissimo design house (10 west 56th street, manhattan). the show features a selection of recent work and will be topped off by drinks from bombay sapphire and a live dj. so please check it out if you can. it's always great to see what the next generation of designers is up to. [the show runs through october 29]

ps: in celebration of student design, i've enlisted a group of talented design students to act as correspondents for d*s on design trends at universities and colleges everywhere. with over 20 students representing schools in the us and abroad, it's sure to be a great new feature. they'll discuss design trends in materials, styles, function, etc, as well as photo reviews of student exhibitions, etc. i'm thrilled to give student design a bigger voice on the web. i think these guys are doing amazing work.
