favorites: results!

this was so fun, thanks to everyone who wrote in. i got over 300 emails (75 this morning- just made it!) and comments from readers who were kind enough to share their favorite mags, designers and trends. so, without further adieu, here are your results!:

• favorite magazine: dwell (by a HUGE landslide)
• favorite store: online: it was neck and neck between design within reach and velocity art and design, with elsewares and design public coming in third and fourth. brick and mortar had a dead tie (no kidding!) between abc home and moss (with the conran shop coming in third)
• favorite designer: hands down, not even a distant second place, your favorite designers are charles and ray eames. the d*s community is a classy lot.
• favorite manufacturer : herman miller (must have something to do with the eameses...)
• and favorite design trend : overwhelmingly environmental design. the nature theme was huge with second and third place being all things wooden and organic.

i was so thrilled with this little survey and wanted to thank everyone again. and as promised, here are my personal favorites: magazine (dwell, id (even though my favorite editor left, sniff sniff), domino- can't choose), store (online is a tie between velocity and elsewares), brick and mortar (anthropologie- if only for their store design- and clio home), designer (ronan and erwan bouroullec), manufacturer (moooi), trend (color, i hope to see more saturated colors this season, anything in rich jewel tones. i'm over the neutral tones of past seasons).
