i was just reading melissa at blue tea bag's comments under the moderntot post and decided to do something about her cry for affordable design. well, something short of creating it myself.

i've decided to institute a new weekly feature on d*s:

focus: affordable design

spotlighting a type of furniture (ie: dining chairs, children's furniture, lighting), the section will highlight the best of modern design that those of us on a budget can afford. i'm aiming to showcase products under $100, under $250 and under $500. so, affordable design, here i come! (i'll still mix in my normal posts, but will be sure to focus on an affordable topic once a week).

this will be in addition to the monthly focus: women in design! column, which will continue next week with one of my favorite bay area residents.

so, if you have time, jot down some of your favorite furniture/design categories in the comments section and i'll start searching for affordable answers to expensive design queries. xo, d*s
