these days i'm in the mood for anything that looks like bright red laquer. i found these vases from wingard inc and thought they fit the bill quite nicely. designed by kenneth wingard, a san francisco based artist, they have the simple lines and use punchy color i just love (they're also available in orange and a range of blues and greens). wingard also has some great vintage style ottomans, and while they aren't super cheap ($159 a piece), they're cute pieces to add some pop to a room (the vintage fabric covering is removable and machine washable). you can find more of kenneth wingard's work here.
