scot with one T
Do you like this story?
scot laughton is one of the many extraordinary designers that design for lolah, a fantastic canadian furniture manufacturer. i've been meaning to post something on cache, scot's wonderfully mod take on a storage trunk, for awhile now. made of molded birch plywood (available in an oak or walnut finish), cache is a beautiful solution to cleaning up that mess in your apartment (we all know it's messy, don't lie).
born in ottawa, scot studied industrial design at the ontario college of art in toronto. not content to be just another pretty face (and believe me, it's pretty), scot designed the strala light in his senior year, which time magazine named one of 1987’s top ten designs. not bad.
scot opened his own practice in 1992, boasting an impressive clientele that includes nienkämper, pure design and umbra. he was even named designer of the year in 2003 by the interior design show, toronto. impressive guy.
the furniture speaks for itself so check out the pictures above and below and check out scotlaughton.com for more info. have a great weekend everyone!
