great goetz!

i had the honor of working with the fabulous mr. andrew goetz back in the days of his tenure at vitra. we miss him so very much now that he's gone off to further fabulousness at his amazing new skin and hair care store he owns with his partner, matthew malin (a painfully cute kiehls alum). andrew followed his heart and brought his design contacts (this man knows everyone, and i mean everyone, in the industry) to malin+goetz, which is now open at 177 seventh ave in chelsea.

malin+goetz is the personification of DESIGN. from the phenomenal store design down to the font used on their product labels (courtesy of my personal favorites, 2x4), malin+goetz have NAILED their niche. i happen to love the product labels the most (a modern take on text-central apothecary style), but the store is nothing to sneeze at. take a look at eric laignel's photographs above and below and you'll see what i mean. from a GORGEOUS all-corian entryway to a painfully cool and painfully bright white store space(i'd go crazy if i had to clean that place), this store oozes design and i just love looking at it. so, if you're in chelsea, pop in and say hi to andrew and matthew, and try the face lotion- it's lovely.
