post for a rainy day....
Do you like this story?
this is the third time i've written this, as blogger seems to be particularly hungry today and has gobbled up my two earlier posts. grrr. anyway, i wanted to write about how i was trying to cheer myself up during the rainy weather by listening to mates of state and writing a post about happy cards. but now i'm all bummed out again because it ate my post. argh.
anyway, i love cards and teensy weensy card companies that hand-make everything on manual printing presses (my college major!) so i'm constantly on the lookout for a new one. so today i thought i'd focus on three of my favorite: two piglets, jack and lulu and egg press from portland.
two piglets makes tragically cute printed cards that make you want to buy their whole line. their classic "piggy" designs are the best, but what makes two piglets so great is that they make a whole slew of cards for random occasions. i'm fond of any company that has a large selection of "just because" cards. you can't go wrong with anything from two piglets. they're the greatest. (they've been on my "must interview" list for awhile now...promise i'll get around to asking them soon)
i found jack and lulu on fredflare.com. this north carolina duo (yay south!) makes great stationery that is a working man's version of kate spade: cute, crisp and classic with a dash of modern design.
egg press has been one of my top three for awhile now, as they make some of the sweetest press cards out there. with titles like "sweet pea" and "peanut" they're a bit on the cutesy side, but then again, everyone likes to be called a "sweet pea" now and again.
so, take some time out and grab a card for the people in your life. don't forget your mailman and ups people! they have to be out in this icky weather and deserve a little paper hug, too! happy holidays!
OINK OINK [3 heart piggie*two piglets] painfully cute card i once bought for my dear a.c.
SNIFF SNIFF [smelling dog card*two piglets] ugh, so cute.
CHEEP CHEEP [pink avoary notecards*jack and lulu] simple, sweet.
FOR THE MODERNIST [modern house cards*jack and lulu] we all have a modernist in the family, don't we?
